It has been fairly enjoyable learning how to do these fights, but Fe just felt unfair to me. I am currently working on my final two fights for the last of the trophies: Hagalaz - no damage and Odin - no god powers (the timing to destroy his spears is pretty absurd since you have to swing way early). This game relies primarily on positioning and predicting what will happen because you can't roll/run out of the way of anything that you don't see coming most of the time. Inconsistent boss behavior and such would be fine IF the character was actually fast enough to react to things. why does the roll have collision detection like this? if you don't change direction it will keep moving with you and damaging you. Also, if you roll into a dwarf the dwarf will STICK to you and start hitting you as you're trying to roll. Sometimes the shield still does damage to you even though you reflected it as well. Bouncing back the shield is completely impossible if you're on the top left, top right, left or right of the boss arena so you basically have to stand at the bottom and hope that a bunch of mallet chuckers aren't spawning on top of you when you're trying to reflect it at the boss. I can't count how many times I would eat a random hammer from an offscreen enemy while I was trying to damage the boss which is unfair in every respect. Luck plays way too much of a factor in doing these successfully which just makes it more infuriating than fun.įe is probably the most inconsistent boss of all of them with the adds spawning. I have been trying to do the trophies for this game on the PS4 and feel that the main issue with Valhalla mode and the no damage/no god power attempts is how utterly inconsistent these boss fights are. Originally posted by chaoticenigma:Just got the last achievement. Then when I ran out, I had to hope not to get hit while hitting the pillars for the last damage. I pretty much had to use a Thor + Freya to burst the health down to around half, then use a Loki to buy some time after a roar to do more hits of that. That or maybe allowing the projectiles to hurt the boss even without you having to knock them back since that'd allow for some little extra damage while you're trying to run away from the lots of enemies. The fight I think would have played a bit better if there were less summons, the bodies occasionally getting cleared, or even just having fewer stronger ones. Or trying to avoid the dwarves then finding a big one in the way of where I'm going and therefore walking into a thrown projectile. Just getting better or worse spawn positions that would affect how much I could hit with Thor + Freya combo. The shield on Fé is still risky or undoable at times because the dwarves might either try to hit you or you'll have a projectile thrown at you.Īlso, it didn't even feel like I was getting any better with the fight. The Micro+ features three distinct temperatures for both carts and dabs and delivers heat either manually or automatically depending on your preference. The even convection of the tank makes for effortless cleaning post dab, and the heft of the battery feels far more substantial than many pens. Then, when reattached, the mouthpiece completes the dual-channel enclosure and consumers can draw at will, not unlike a dab straw. When the mouthpiece assembly is removed to access the tank, the concentrate can be dropped in, e-rig style. G Pen produces its own proprietary oil pods for its oil pen vaporizers, but the Micro+ works with the ubiquitous 510 carts that glisten under dispensary counters coast to coast, rather than the specialized carts made exclusively by G Pen.Īdditionally, this pen has the functionality of an e-rig/dab straw hybrid. What separates the G Pen Micro+ from other G Pens? It arrives snug in a hemp carrying case alongside a two-inch dabbing tool and a USB-C charging cord. The single button unit is approximately four inches long, with the girth of a fat sharpie or tube of lipstick. The Micro+ features a ceramic and quartz tank for vaporizing wax, shatter, sugar, and other concentrates, which can be unscrewed to reveal the port for a cartridge. Unlike the other proprietary pod batteries in the G Pen line, the Micro+ works with both 510 carts and concentrates and uses contemporary cannabis-tech to predict optimal temperatures for both. The G Pen Micro+ is a hybrid wax pen and rechargeable 510 cartridge battery. But more than that, it has the potential to marry committed cartridge fans to the joy of dabs and committed dabbers to the convenience of carts. It is simple and straightforward to use, with multifunctionality that's surprisingly intuitive to navigate. The Micro+ is a standout in the G Pen product line, performing as both an ultra-compact wax pen and a rechargeable cart battery. Its product line features water-filtered e-rigs, proprietary pod batteries, handheld convection vapes, and now, with the inclusion of the Micro+, a dab straw/e-rig/510 cartridge battery hybrid that fits in the palm of a hand. For the uninitiated, G Pen is an accessory brand that produces exclusive-feeling vaporizers at a number of inclusive price points.

It’s fresh and bright and looks like a thoroughly modernised take on the classic original and the soundtrack riffs nicely on the original theme too.īest of all, it’s only four quid which is a pittance for a great entry into the Pac-Man pantheon. Visually, Pac-Man 256 still looks the part having made the journey to the living room screen. Where Pac-Man was always about patterns, this is all about reactions which makes it feel even more arcadey (er… than the most iconic arcade of all time. Also, the game is all about navigating in the moment. There will be moments of skill though and these can be exhilarating. The gameplay is tight and enjoyable, although deaths can come cheaply and this version doesn’t give you a continue option like the mobile versions. The game is easy to learn and ripe for high score chasing. It’s good being back into the game and the trophies give you some reason to keep going (even though the last two are incredibly grindy). Admittedly, I played all I needed to on my iPad so I’m not expecting to hammer this console version but this is an improvement in terms of using physical controls and also not having a wait timer (the iOS version was free and therefore subject to IAP nonsense). Unlocking new power ups (such as super size, a flame attack, mini Pac-men and others) keeps things quite fresh. It’s all very natural though and the progress comes steadily. These power ups can be upgraded or swapped out for others which are unlocked by completing ‘missions’ such as eating 20 ghosts (cumulative) or using a certain type of power up some number of times. These vary wildly and any given game of this will have three types littering the play area. Aside from the power pills, you also get other power ups. They’ve also beefed up Pac’s offense too. I’m something of a Pac-Man geek at times and so it’s great to see developers Hipster Whale dig into the history of the game and bringing in elements like this. It’s a very nice nod to the original title. The other half was graphically corrupted. In that screen, the unit ran out of memory and only generated half the level. The ‘256’ refers to the final screen of the original Pac-Man arcade game. Some will patrol a set route, some will shuffle along a single horizontal line and others will hunt you for as long as they can while behind you is a slow-creeping wall of corruption that will envelope you if it catches up. In your way are various ghosts, each with different behavioural traits. Using a scrolling, isometric layout, the game tasks you with helping Pac-Man move constantly onwards and upwards along an infinite, randomly-generated maze layout. However, Pac-Man 256 is also chock full of excellent ideas. Namco have never been shy to wheel out our favourite pizza-based icon after all and the game follows the standard model of Pac-Man eating dots, avoiding ghosts and then turning the tables on them thanks to those handy “energizer” power pills. Jin PS4 tagged arcade / billy mitchell / coin-op / namco / pac-man 256 by Richieįollowing on from last year’s iOS and Android versions, Pac-Man 256, continues Namco’s trend of reinventing their most famous franchise in the same way that the two Championship Edition games did last generation. People with Asperger Syndrome and some forms of Dyslexia may do this in an attempt to be as precise as possible, ironically making themselves harder to understand. Williams Syndrome can lead to this kind of behavior. Frequently another character will respond with something like "Wouldn't it be easier to just ?" or "And, too!" In The United States, when someone really has no idea what the person says, they'll say something like, "Could you repeat that in plain ol' Galveston English?" Alternatively, they may get even more wordy as they get more emotional, leading to increasingly detailed but ultimately incoherent ranting that falls too easily into wangst. Occasionally such characters may drop the long words if things get particularly dire, to emphasize just how bad things are (in the same way as a Sarcasm Failure). This could also be the trait of a particularly anal-retentive character who always has to be right, the trait extending so far that the character always has to use exactly the right word - never using "blue" when "azure" or "indigo" or even "royal blue" would be more accurate, for example. Characters afflicted with this trait often seem to go out of their way to over-complicate their speech, probably because writers think that this is the only way to show that someone is more intelligent than the average writer. In brief: "smart" characters using long words when short ones would be better, especially when they are also motor mouths. Related to this is the use of inkhorn terms, loanwords from a foreign origin that are pretentious to an average speaker. How about "chattiness"?Ī predilection by the intelligentsia to engage in the manifestation of prolix exposition through a buzzword disposition form of communication notwithstanding the availability of more comprehensible, punctiliously applicable, diminutive alternatives. Loquaciousness: That would be garrulousness, verboseness, effusiveness. From the Latin roots meaning "a foot-and-a-half long." Sesquipedalian: A long word, or characterized by the use of long words.
